kevin@magellanplanning.com An Atlanta native, Kevin's family settled in Georgia in the late 1780's and is widely known for Meaders Pottery, which has some pieces proudly displayed in the Smithsonian. Kevin graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta with a double B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science. While at Oglethorpe, Kevin served as class president three out of four years and interned under then Secretary of State Max Cleland and also under then Governor Zell Miller. Immediately after graduation, Kevin accepted an invitation from the University of Moscow in Russia to pursue further study in post-Cold War Eastern European economic integration. Kevin graduated from Georgia State University College of Law, focusing on estate planning and trust law. In addition, upon completion of required studies and a national two-day board examination, he earned the designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). Kevin has continued his life-long process of education and has also earned the designations of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Kevin has passed all required exams, and kept up required continuing education classes to hold General Securities Principal and Registered Representative registration with ING Financial Partners (member SIPC). He also has achieved the Registered Investment Advisor Representative registration, under which he is registered with ING Financial Partners. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Georgia State Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association. On a personal note, Kevin has played drums since age 5, picked up trumpet at age 13, and guitar at age 33. An avid animal lover, Kevin donates some of his time and money to the Atlanta Humane Society, Noah’s Wish, PAWS, and Fur-Kids. He also currently serves on the President’s Advisory Council of Oglethorpe University, and is active in Oglethorpe’s Alumni committees. Kevin served as a presenter at Emory University’s Center for Lifelong Learning, has been published in national financial magazines, and seen on TV’s “Atlanta & Co.” Kevin and his wife Gui, a native of Brazil, live in Dunwoody. |

len@magellanplanning.com Len is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a BS in Business Administration and Accounting. He was president of the Olympic Club while on campus. Len also graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he earned Order of the Coif by graduating second in his class. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Tennessee Law Review his senior year and was the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity Graduate of the Year. Len has been practicing law for over thirty years with a primary focus in trust and estate law, and was one of the first attorneys in Georgia to recognize the special needs of our aging population by becoming involved in a newly recognized area of the law known as Elder Law. He was one of the early members of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Georgia State Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association. In addition, Len is a member of the Cobb County Estate Planning Council, the Georgia Elder Care Network and the Cobb Justice Foundation. Len also serves on the Professional Advisory Board of “Operation Homefront,” which is dedicated to providing assistance to the families of deployed service members fighting the war on terrorism. On the personal side, Len is a Viet Nam veteran, serving in the U. S.
Army until honorably discharged in 1968. Len has one daughter, Cody,
who graduated from the University of Georgia and earned a graduate degree
at the University of Colorado. She is a schoolteacher in Asheville,
North Carolina, and made Len a grandfather for the first time
in February of ‘07. Len and his wife Anita, who recently retired
after thirty years with BellSouth, live in Indian Hills in Marietta. |

henry@magellantax.com Henry is a graduate of Emory University, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He later earned his Master of Science in Taxation from Florida International University. Henry has over 25 years of solid tax experience - working with clients, saving them tax dollars whenever possible and representing them before the IRS when necessary. Before coming to Magellan Tax, Henry worked with two public accounting firms in Atlanta. He then joined Bank of America where he managed the trust tax department, which prepared over 3,000 trust returns during tax season. Henry moved back to Atlanta, from his hometown of Miami, in 1997. During the last 12 years, Henry has been active on the Alumni Board at Emory's Business School, headed the Safety Committee for his civic association in Brookhaven, and was a board member and treasurer of his synagogue, Congregation Or Hadash, in Sandy Springs. Henry is also adjunct faculty at Oglethorpe University, where he teaches tax in the Certified Financial Planner® program. Henry and his wife, Jenise, live in Brookhaven. Henry is fluent in Spanish, having been born in Cuba. |

Melissa graduated from Kennesaw State University with a BBA in Business Management. Melissa’s years of experience in the service industry have greatly contributed to her exceptional customer service. In her free time, Melissa enjoys traveling, golfing, movies and enjoys spending time with family and friends. |

of Technology. Blake enjoys higher mathematics and astronomy and has been involved
in personal investing since the early 90’s. He currently puts
those skills to use in researching and optimizing customized asset allocation
models for individual client accounts. Blake has passed the Series 65 Examination
and is an Investment Advisor Representative and registered with ING Financial Partners. Blake is a native Atlantan and proud father of twin daughters
and is currently pursuing a degree in Finance and Accounting. |

Jennifer graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Marketing. Immediately following graduation, she headed to Atlanta to launch her business career. Jennifer worked in the tradeshow exhibit industry for more than six years, managing the multitude of details involved in selling, transporting and assembling exhibits for local and national tradeshows. In 2003, Jennifer left the business-to-business field and came to Magellan Planning Group, where she could work with people on a more personal level. Jennifer handles all of our marketing efforts, whether to the general public or to our own family of clients. This includes seminars, website development and maintenance, newsletters, and overall client satisfaction. Jennifer is our point of contact for what we’re doing right and what we can do better. Jennifer also assists with paralegal work for Magellan Legal. |

rachelle@magellanplanning.com Rachelle is generally the first point of contact when calling and visiting our office. In addition to answering phones and booking appointments, Rachelle works closely with Melissa in assisting with the day-to-day operations of financial management. Before joining the team at Magellan Planning Group, Rachelle worked in the Industrial industry for six years as an Office Administrator as well as Sales and Marketing contact. Rachelle graduated from Kennesaw State University with a BBA in Management with a Minor in Marketing. In addition to obtaining her Bachelors, she also holds two nursing licenses and was a certified Pharmacy Technician for four years. Rachelle also serves as the Individual Development Vice President for the Paulding County Jaycees Chapter, where she coordinates community and personal growth events to raise funds and awareness for a variety of causes within Paulding County. |

tom@magellanplanning.com Tom has over 30 years of experience as a certified internal auditor for the U.S. Army Audit Agency, a position that afforded Tom the opportunity to travel the world, including such exotic places as Bali, Indonesia and Cairo, Egypt. After retiring, Tom spent 5 years as the owner/operator of an apple farm in rural Pennsylvania before deciding to come back to the big city. Tom first arrived in Atlanta 37 years ago after earning a B.S. in Accounting, with postgraduate studies at the University of Alabama. He also graduated from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in National Security Management and holds an insurance license in the State of Georgia. A Vietnam Veteran, he is looking forward to working with our seniors on Strategic Planning for Life Transitions. Tom was a competitive runner for 30 years, and now regularly walks 8 miles a day. He and his wife, Sandy, maintain a second home in Panama City, Florida. |
